Julian is one of the mortgage industry’s true legends, following his passion through thick and thin to run our highly successful Specialist Finance division.
Having always had an interest in property and initially part qualifying as an Architect, Julian decided to join the Financial Services industry in 1989, cutting his teeth at John Charcol in the early 1990’s. After opening their Guildford Office, Julian left to spend time assisting High Net Worth individuals with tax efficient investment schemes.
In 2000 he jointly founded the boutique Mortgage Brokerage Cobalt Capital. As the managing partner of Cobalt Capital and at the centre of its growth, the company expanded to a peak of 90 staff and developed into one of the leading mortgage brokerages in London.
With more than a growing interest in the specialist and commercial sectors of the mortgage market and a determination to obtain finance on the seemingly impossible, Julian decided to follow his passion and invest into Coreco, becoming a Director in 2010.
His aim is to drive this business forward to become one of the strongest specialist finance teams in the industry, focusing on large residential loans for development/investment purposes and large property portfolios.
Julian is also a proud member of the FIBA Executive Committee.
Guy is one of the calmest, most experienced brokers at Coreco who is often the “go to guy” for help with particularly tricky cases.
With a fantastic knowledge of lenders criteria, Guy works in the Specialist Finance department advising on all types of lending but especially landlords with large Buy To let Portfolios.
Andrew Montlake is more than a traditional MD, he is our very own brand guru, who knows everything there is to know about Coreco – so he’s our go-to guy when the media ask what we’ve been up to. As such, he is regularly quoted in the media with appearances on BBC and SKY TV as well as National and local Radio. It also surprises many to discover he’s actually a closet rock star, singing in Rogue Monkey when he’s not working at the coal face for clients like you.
Better known as Monty, he began his journey with an Hons degree in Economics & Politics, (an Economist with an appreciation of the lighter side of Karl Marx), leaving Leeds Metropolitan University with a spring in his step and dreams of either changing the world, becoming a rock star or running an advertising and PR agency.
After a brief sojourn with an Advertising Agency and a direct marketing company, Monty started in the mortgage industry in February 1994, at John Charcol where he became part of the top-performing team.
In June 2000, he joined Cobalt Capital and grabbing the chance to combine mortgage broking with his first passion, helped to successfully grow the brand from scratch as Head of PR and Marketing.
In April 2009, Monty became one of the main founding directors of Coreco, determined to help drive financial literacy, educate the public and show that mortgage brokers can be different.
As MD, Andrew looks after the strategic goals that drive the vision and culture of the company, maintaining and promoting our Brand, Marketing, PR & Communications, as well as looking after our Corporate, Introducer, and Lender relationships.
He is the author of a highly acclaimed Mortgage Blog and host of our successful Mortgage & Property Podcasts. Not only has he helped Coreco to win a trophy cabinet full of top awards along the way, but he has also won 8 major industry awards personally; Best Press Spokesperson (twice), Best Marketeer (twice), Mortgage Personality of the Year (twice), Mortgage Strategist of the Year and most recently Best Business Leader Broker (11-50 brokers).
As an experienced presenter and public speaker, he engages with other companies around London to help educate their employees on the subject of mortgages and buying a home.
Monty is also a proud Board Member of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, (AMI) and has recently been elected as their Chairman from 2021, working to “promote the provision of good advice as an essential part of a healthy market for mortgages” and as a cheerleader for the Mortgage Industry as a whole, usually without the pom-poms.
After more than 4 years gaining experience in the administrative and compliance areas of the industry, Tom decided a career in advising and face to face client interaction best suited him. He moved on to a short spell with a City start-up firm before joining the ranks at Coreco in August 2011.
He is now one of the top performing brokers at Coreco working with some of our leading introducer accounts as well as having a strong knowledge of the more Specialist side of the business. Tom also noticed a strong niche in the market and was instrumental in the setup of our Contractor division, specialising in all types of mortgages for Contractor professionals in the UK.
Perhaps most noticeably, although he doesn’t like to mention it, in July 2013 Tom won the British Mortgage Award for the leading young broker in the industry, as recognised by his peers and clients for his dedication to a superior level of service. In July 2017 he went one step further and was named Best Overall Broker at the British Mortgage Awards. He is also on a winning streak, taking home ‘Adviser of the Year’ two years running at the annual Coreco awards.
With a passion for football, shooting and gin, as well as being a snappy dresser, Tom lives in Alton, Hampshire, with his wife, baby boy Fred and Vizlsa Jameson.
Starting his career in property and finance with Connells Estate Agents more years ago than he cares to remember, Peter was first employed as a sales negotiator before moving across into the Financial Services arm as a mortgage adviser.
During this time he studied for, and passed, all three elements that make up the FPC qualification and in addition gained the CeMAP qualification.
After 5 years with Connells he joined John Charcol in 2002. Based in the Canary Wharf office he remained with Charcol until joining Coreco in August 2009 shortly after the business was established.
Better known as Taff, he now works within the Specialist team here at Coreco Towers dealing with the extremely varied requirements of their many clients.
Molly started her career in financial services in 2013 at Barclays Bank and then moved to M&S Bank to progress her position.
She took time out from the industry to decide which direction her career would take, whilst working on P&O cruise lines traveling the Caribbean, Mediterranean and the Norwegian Fjords.
After returning to the UK, she began her career as a Buy-to-Let and Specialist Mortgage Adviser in her hometown of Norwich, swiftly gaining her CeMAP qualification, and followed this up with also acquiring her Diploma in Financial Advice (DipFA). This role is where she got to build her knowledge of commercial, development and bridging finance, becoming the go-to adviser in the company for these cases.
Having then spent a year in the residential mortgage space in an estate agent as their Mortgage and Protection adviser, she recently relocated to London and joined Coreco in August 2019 looking to further progress her career and knowledge in the industry.
She is a happy-go-lucky character, bringing a woman’s touch to the team when it is most needed – which in her eyes is always.
Matt joined the Coreco Commercial team in June 2019 as a trainee Commercial Adviser where he works alongside Julian Ingall.
Prior to joining Coreco Commercial, Matt had spent the last 18 months at Charles Cameron where he obtained his CeMap qualification & the previous 11 years working in property management, sales, and lettings.
Matt has a wealth of knowledge in the Commercial & Specialist lending field; particularly with HNW clients, complex income structures & portfolio landlords. Matt is a competent adviser where he is ruthless with his work ethic & likes to get the job done!
Away from the office Matt is a keen football fan; he particularly loves socialising with his network of friends, but most importantly loves to spend quality time with his wife & young son.
He also has a very interesting party trick, he can name the make of boots worn by any footballer!
Mussa has joined the Coreco Team as a Commercial Case Manager, working alongside Julian and Matt primarily. He has over 3 years history within Financial Services, working for 2 other Mortgage Brokers and also as a Trainee Auditor for Ernst & Young, with his most recent role being a Data Analyst for GlaxoSmithKline. Mussa decided he wanted to return to Financial Services as he hopes to progress to be an Adviser within Coreco in the next 12 months.
Away from the desk, Mussa is a ‘religious follower of Manchester United’ and he also loves spending time with his mum and girlfriend.
Narinder is responsible for sourcing finance for buy to let mortgages.
He specialises in complex buy to let mortgages (including Ltd Co/SPV), HMO’s and bridging finance.
He can also assist with all commercial, semi-commercial funding requirements and development finance.
After graduating from the University of Kent with a LLB (Hons) in Law and College of Law (LPC) Narinder worked at The Law Society & Royal Courts of Justice in London. After working in the legal sector Narinder pursued a career as a mortgage broker and quickly became CeMAP qualified.
Prior to joining Coreco Specialist Finance, Narinder was a senior broker at Mortgages for Business and Countrywide Mortgage services where he assisted in Residential and Specialist BTL finance/Commercial Finance.
